A German-settled areas of Czechoslovakia with about 26,000 sq. km and 3.3 million German inhabitants. A Sudeten German Party under Konrad Henlein, supported by Berlin, accusations of Czechoslovakia maltreatment, were the cause of the Munich meeting which ceded Sudetenland to Germany. After World War II most of the German population of the region were expelled from Czechoslovakia.
